How has doing barefoot massage changed your career?
The first half of my career (9yrs) I was a no pain no gain therapist and it wrecked my body. I wanted to learn Ashiatsu because I thought it looked cool. I was hooked the first time I felt a therapists feet on me in my first class.
Everything I was trying to achieve in my hands on massage happened almost effortlessly with barefoot massage. There is no way I could have kept up the intensity I was working at before going barefoot.
I feel like I’ll be massaging forever now.
What do you love about teaching barefoot massage?
There are so many great moments when teaching! When a therapist feels the work for the first time and gets that “where has this been my whole life” look on their face.
Watching students confidence build. Watching the wheels turn as they realize all the possibility contained in the stroke and the excitement as they think of the clients that would benefit.
