When Jeni, Paul, and I started this little business in 2017, and we spent a lot of time visioning and planning how we could make our barefoot massage company different from others. Not only in the strokes and how we teach, but in our post-class support. A barefoot massage membership site made sense.
It would be a place for our community to review strokes, download marketing and business materials, ideas on how to better run their massage studio and more.
I’ve been doing barefoot massage since 2002, and Jeni was shortly behind me in 2003.
Together with our instructors, we’ve learned so much about what helps barefoot therapists.
By the same token we’ve also discovered what also prevents other skilled therapists who have learned ashiatsu from actually doing it in their studio and growing a business.
The material we’ve placed into our barefoot massage membership site so far is really just the tip of the iceberg.
Support in a barefoot massage community is vital, which is why we also have a wonderful Facebook Alumni Group.
Our tips and tricks we post on Tuesdays are another bonus. Why on earth do we spend our time doing that?
Because we can act as mentors to barefoot therapists who need help.
Some of the things we write about and video are things that seem so simple at the outset but took us years to figure out.
For instance, 2 of our upcoming videos will show you how to do very easy things like:
? getting your client in the right position for supine neck and shoulder work
? placing your client’s arm on the table and getting off with grace and ease.
(Here’s our YouTube channel. We recommend you subscribe!)
While none of this is rocket science, our tips and tricks will make you a better therapist.
The better therapist you are, the more you can help your clients. And that’s why we all became massage therapists in the first place, right?
We’ve spent 100’s and 100’s of hours on our barefoot massage membership site, all at no cost to the therapist who’s taken our classes.
Is it exhausting?
Yes. Jeni and I have created content and videos (thanks to our past and present instructors who participated in the projects) with Paul editing, uploading, and creating the entire membership site.
It’s definitely a passion project and the feedback from our barefoot class alumni make it all worthwhile.
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

We believe in community, and in fostering fasciashi passion not only in massage therapists but in the public as a whole. By supporting our therapists, we assist local business and their neighborhood.
The ashiatsu membership site will continue to grow as we provide more content (and discounts!) for our alumni.
Because learning barefoot massage in class is just the beginning of your #fasciashi barefoot massage career.
Every day we take small steps to help massage therapists and their communities.
We’d love if you could pass along our mission to other massage therapists you think we could help.
